The Baratza Encore ESP Pro
The ESP Pro is Baratza’s newest grinder featuring a host of improvements that make the grinder an excellent choice for anyone looking for a do-it-all grinder under $500.
While functionally, it features the same core components as the Encore ESP - 40mm M2 steel Etzinger burrs and a separate adjustment range for espresso and filter - the grinder also features some improvements both for workflow and grind quality.
First, the pro has step-less grind adjustments, with display indicating the grind setting from 0-60.
Settings between 0-40 are the espresso settings, with each 1 unit increment indicating 2.5microns of burr movement. Settings 41-60 move in larger increments, with each 1 unit being 10 microns of burr movement. These larger settings are for your filter coffee, french press, cold brew, etc.
The hopper design now includes a flow control disc, meaning coffee is fed into the burrs at a more controlled rate. This increases grind uniformity which improves clarity of your brews.
They also added an anti-static ionizer into the chute which reduces static. This won’t entirely eliminate grind retention, but it will make the ground coffee notably less messy.
Finally, the motor gearbox has been redesigned which makes operation quieter and more durable.

The grinder includes a 54mm/58mm dosing cup makes it easy to transfer grounds directly into a portafilter for less mess and an even distribution that's ready to tamp! Fits most home espresso machine portafilter baskets.
Choose between two different grind modes. Single dose mode automatically stops when the hopper runs empty. Timed mode runs until the set time hits zero. Both modes are compatible with the included single dose lid and hopper.
